Tree Trail Trek with Steven Holekamp

Medina River Natural Area, meet in front of the kiosk between the park office, two picnic tables, and the compost restroom.
This walk highlights the vital role native plants play in supporting local wildlife, building healthy soils, and strengthening our ecosystems. As we explore, we’ll see how trees and plants work together to sustain the land—and how each of us, as stewards of the Earth, can help protect, care for, and advocate for the landscapes that support our communities.

Mixed terrain not wheelchair accessible: about a fourth of the walk is on cement to Medina River (steep areas); almost half of walk on uneven natural dirt with roots and rocks with approximately 100 feet of railroad ties in natural dirt and rocks; and remaining third of walk on relatively flat cement Greenway trail.
Registration is required.
