Volunteer/Participant Waiver * Volunteer/Participant liability waiver for the Bexar Branches Alliance Programming, including a photo release:
Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk:
In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Bexar Branches Alliance (BBA) programming or volunteer events, I hereby acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:
1. Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge that participating in outdoor activities, including but not limited to hiking, walking, and tree-related activities, involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical exertion, exposure to natural elements, wildlife, uneven terrain, and other potential hazards. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including any injury, illness, or loss that may result.
2. Release of Liability: I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, assigns, and personal representatives, hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Bexar Branches Alliance, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action that may arise from my participation in any Bexar Branches Alliance’s tree planting, preservation, or educational programming, including but not limited to any claims for injury, illness, or property damage.
3. Medical Treatment: I authorize Bexar Branches Alliance and its representatives to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf in the event of an injury or illness. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result.
4. Compliance with Rules: I agree to follow all instructions, guidelines, and safety rules provided by Bexar Branches Alliance and its representatives during the event.
Photo and Media Release:
1. Consent to Photography and Recording: I hereby grant Bexar Branches Alliance the irrevocable right and permission to photograph, film, or otherwise record my participation in Bexar Branches Alliance’s programming or volunteer events. I understand that these photographs and recordings may include my image, likeness, voice, and/or name.
2. Use of Photos and Recordings: I consent to the use of these photographs, recordings, and any other media for promotional, educational, or informational purposes, including but not limited to publications, websites, social media, and other marketing materials, without compensation or notice to me.
3. Waiver of Rights: I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product or any printed or electronic matter that may be used in connection with the photographs or recordings. I also waive any rights to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the photographs or recordings.
**Acknowledgment and Signature:**
By agreeing to the waiver as described above, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this waiver of liability and photo release. I certify that I am at least 18 years of age. If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign on my behalf.
