Tree Buds Citizen Foresters Orientation

Bexar Branches Alliance is excited to launch our 2026–2027 season with the Tree Buds Citizen Forester Orientation on Saturday, October 3 at the Wheatly Sports Complex from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.

Tree Buds is a volunteer-powered program that trains community members to prune and care for young trees in parks and public spaces. With support from certified arborists, you’ll gain hands-on skills and help trees thrive in neighborhoods most affected by the urban heat island effect, reducing pollution and heat-related illnesses.

This free training is supported by the San Antonio Arborist Association, the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, and the Alamo Forest Partnership.

Whether you’re new to BBA or a longtime supporter, this is the perfect way to get involved and make a real difference for the San Antonio Region’s urban forest.
